MEDIPREDICT IS LOOKING FOR A
GENOMIC SCIENTIST
LOCATION
Budapest or Szeged (optional home office)
Medipredict, a data-driven precision health company, is looking for a genomic scientist who is interested in working on personalized prevention and long-term health prediction by the integration of medical and OMICS examinations. This position requires the ability to work and make scientific decisions both independently and in a group. The applicant would be part of the genomic workgroup.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret genetic variants identified via NGS in client samples and write variant report summaries
- Contribute to gene-disease validity curations
- Participate in building our in-house genetic variant database and genomics data analysis
- Investigate variants in IGV
- Contribute to client report writing and QC
- Participate in genomics related research and development projects
- Raise risks, issues and requirements regarding genomics task delivery as well as report generation
- Coordinating with scientific teams within the company
- Attend all relevant team and company meetings
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
- University degree in molecular genetics / molecular biology or other related discipline
- Great adaptation skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (Language of work is English and Hungarian)
- Analytical thinking
- Technological awareness
- Cooperative attitude
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- PhD or other research experience is an advantage
- Familiar with ACMG and ClinGen guidelines-based germline variant interpretations
- Experience with ClinGen guidelines-based gene-disease validity curations
- Good understanding of NGS technologies
- Familiar with GWAS studies and polygenic risk scores
